Aside being known for their wonderful acting skills, and chiseled good looks, the Shondaland actors are above all, known for their dedication to countless charities. Private Practice star, Taye Diggs, was on hand on Tuesday to help unveil a giant spoon installation in Hollywood in an effort to raise awareness about childhood hunger in America.
The art display at the famous Hollywood and Highland center is comprised of more than 100,000 red, plastic spoons.
The multinational food manufacturing company, Kellogg, has pledged to donate breakfast to a child in need for every spoon taken from the display.
Diggs, who is known for his roles in the ABC series Private Practice and the musical Rent, helped unveil the display while also showing off his new “Got Milk?” ad campaign.
“Usually when you hear about childhood hunger it’s dealing with another country,” Diggs said. “I think it’s important to let people know that this issue is affecting kids in our country.”
The event Tuesday launched the third annual Share Breakfast program, which pledges 1 million breakfasts to children in need through Action for Healthy Kids grants.
“Each year we’ve achieved that goal,” Kellogg’s Senior Brand Manager Zena Arnold said. “We hope to give over a million breakfasts this year.”
