I want Mer to show she's a kick ass surgeon. I think Der will have feet of clay in being supportive of his wife in this. I can see Der questioning Mer's skill level and experience ,instead of cheering her on. If it had been anyone but the chief maybe it would be different. I just hope the chief's involving Mer can't be interpretted as a bribe to keep quite about his drunkeness.
