Owen Hunt = Dr Delicious??!!
By Aussie Lee | November 20, 2009 | ![]()
No more “Mc’s” for Dr Owen Hunt?? Maybe that ain’t such a bad idea. So PopWrap over at NY Post has dug up some interesting information regarding the ‘nick naming’ of said Kevin McKidd’s character on GA! Check out the gossip below!

When “Grey’s Anatomy” came onto the scene in 2005 we were introduced to Patrick Dempsey’s sultry scruff and wavy hair which formed the small screen perfection of Dr. Derek Shepherd, later referred to as McDreamy. A couple of years later we were given the tailored beard and shirtless sexiness of Dr. Mark Sloan, soon re-named McSteamy. And then last year “Grey’s” brought us the pinnacle of this buff-pyramid with Dr. Owen Hunt, who has yet to be labeled anything other than complicated. Until now.
Kevin McKidd, who plays Dr. Owen Hunt, the post-US Army trauma surgeon turned head of trauma at Seattle Grace, recently revealed to PopWrap a few little nuggets of hotness about this seasons “Grey’s Anatomy.” First off, when asked about his so far M.I.A. nickname, he told PopWrap, “Sandra Oh came to set the other day and said that she had friends who were calling me Dr. Delicious. So I guess that would be the name. Maybe it will stick on set, either way it’s nice to stray away from the ‘Mc’ names.”
Oh yes Kevin, we are on board with that.
Since Dr. Hunt is now the main single man at Seattle Grace, it looks like they will milk his sex appeal for all it’s worth. When asked about his new love-triangle, Kevin said, “When they came to us with the idea to add Dr. Teddy Altman’s character into the mix with Sandra and I, we weren’t sure about it. Yet, after we saw how it would play out, and with the addition of Kim Raver as Teddy, it all fell together beautifully.”
And as for Owen’s post-traumatic past, well PopWrap wondered if he would have anther “episode” (i.e. strangling Sandra Oh’s neck). He told us that if it were to ever rear its ugly head again, “Teddy’s character very well could be the catalyst.” Adding, “If it does, I have a feeling that Dr. Hunt will react very differently, be it good or bad. But I am not sure what could happen, he is very different now than he was during that first altercation.” (Pic & Story from NY Post.com – source)
I think Dr Delicious is a great nickname for sure!
What do you all think?
Till next time,

See, I’ve never gotten the whole… Kevin McKidd hotness thing. Cause, I don’t find him attractive at all
No one in my eyes can ever beat Patrick or Eric. They are all kinds of pretty. Hence, Pretty and Prettier. McDreamy, McSteamy… HOTNESS! I haven’t found any other actor that has been able to make my heart all a twitter with love other than those two. Seriously. They make me swoon every time. Patrick’s voice alone makes me giddy. So haha, maybe I’m just not on that band wagon with Dr Delicious just yet.

What part do they not get. Patrick Dempsey (Derek) (McDreamy) is the reason I watch this show. I like McSteamy and Hunt, but Patrick is the best. Maybe he should get his own show, then maybe he would get more airtime and better story lines.

I think it would be a lot more dramatic if Teddy is the trigger for Owen’s having to deal with ptsd again. In my opinion it would have been so much better if Teddy’s presence at Seattle Grace forced Owen to deal with more of his memories from Iraq then being just a love interest. Remember the young soldier in season 5 who wanted his leg cut off so he could get a prostethic leg and return to military duty? The young soldier’s commanding officer was a friend of Owen’s. That got Owen to thinking about returning to Army duty. Season 5 was just better. BTW I like the Dr. Delicious nickname for Kevin McKidd.
