6.08: Surgeries and Bitch Fights

Alright so I am finally doing my reviews!! Hoorah! The first one I am going to start with is 6.08: Invest In Love. I really liked this episode because it focused a lot on Arizona and I love that woman! I also was very happy that there was a lot of Owina stuff for us all! Of course it was not too great but it turned out to be all good so let us begin…
So the first scene is with Owen and he is talking to Arizona and Callie about Cristina. He is so cute! Like I can not get over how cute he is in this scene and he actually seems quite afraid of Cristina…I guess that makes sense. I would be a little afraid too not going to lie. I love that Arizona rolls her eyes and Callie is all shocked that she could be mad at her too, Owen knows Cristina so well already and I love it! My favorite line is definitely “I am handling this. Do not engage her, do not provoke her, simply ignore her”. I don’t know why I find this so adorable but I do and I just like seeing Cristina’s boyfriend and her roommate interacting. I guess I just like to see Owen talking about Cristina to other people, it makes them even more of a couple. Now for my girl Cristina to come into the scene and did she ever make an entrance! That little smirk she gives Owen as she walks by just says so many things and I laugh every time! I was a little proud that Cristina did not straight up go to Owen and get mad at him but was more mature about it.
Now for Arizona’s epic Peds speech you could see just how different Owen and Cristina are. Of course they still belong together, opposites attract as the saying says. As Arizona talks about magic and fairy dust and miracles, Cristina looks disgusted like her face is pretty much saying wtf? This is why I love Cristina because she is just so hardcore and just with her face she can say so much and make me laugh hysterically! Then you see Owen and he is smiling huge! Like he looks adorable! He finds everything Arizona is saying is awesome and he is really into it, Cristina not so much as you can see when she sticks her finger down her throat but that is pretty much a guarantee. I mean it is Cristina and although I love children, I love her for acting this way towards them. It is so her character and it kind of makes me love her more…I know I make no sense but she is my girl! Alright so now they are all on the peds rotation and here comes mini Burke!! I do not know about all of you but how much did that kid remind you of Burke?! I pretty much died when I saw him and wow was he ever adorable! Okay so I know I said Cristina was being mature about Owen not paging her earlier and I was proud…well it does not last very long. When she is presenting the case and she says that the surgery was done by Callie and then just how she says Dr. Hunt, well it says a lot. She is pretty angry but I love that Owen just kind of smirks, he totally loves her!! We see a little bit of foreshadowing when Charles is presenting and Cristina keeps making her awesome snarky comments. Jackson keeps looking at her and smiling and I am like dam those previews for showing that kiss! I just kept saying to myself while waiting for this episode that it was Jackson’s dream or something and now they are showing all these stolen glances and smiles and laughs. What am I supposed to think now??!! If Cristina cheats, I will obviously still love her but I would be very angry! Then I think that Cristina will not cheat, she will tell him to back off for sure. Ugh at this point in the episode I did not know what to think…okay sorry moving on.
Now for the most epic scene in the history of Grey’s Anatomy season 6!! I am not even exaggerating, this scene got me so pumped and excited and I was bouncy happy! Okay I know the suspense is killing you like what scene is she talking about? I wonder what it is? Well everybody it is the breakfast scene! Yes people this is my favorite scene! Just the fact that those three couples have breakfast together which I say in my mind happens everyday makes me very happy! I think it is cute that they all bond and just hang out. Any scene outside the hospital is pretty awesome in my books and I like that Callie/Cristina and Mark/Lexie’s apartments are becoming the go to place. We are seeing them there more and more often and I love it. Then for the best part of this scene is that Arizona is there and that out pops Owen and Cristina! This just shows us that Owen spends the night! And the fact that Callie knows what to make him shows that he stays there a lot! And I do not know about all of you but this makes me pretty friggin ecstatic! I always laugh at how fatty Cristina’s food is and at how healthy Owen’s food is. Then when Callie asks if she should do something for Arizona’s birthday and of course Cristina says no and Owen says yes and they look at each other but just sort of shrug it off. They know they are different but that is what makes them so perfect! They also have similarities so all and all they are great together.
I remembered reading in a very rare interview with Sandra weeks before this episode aired that she was filming a scene with a patient who reminds her of herself. And I just assume that it must have been this episode with the Hilary girl who fell off the roof. They are exactly the same and I am sorry but her speech to her parents was awesome! It was totally a Cristina thing to say and it made me really like Hilary. Her parents could not even say anything back to her because while her decisions were dumb she sounded really smart and totally right…in a way. Cristina was loving the speech too you can read it on her face and dam did Cristina look gorgeous in this scene! I always think she looks good but this scene really stood out to me, seriously go re-watch this scene.
So it is here everyone, the big hardcore Cristina and Owen surgery scene. Okay so Callie and Jackson were there too but I am not talking about them as much so again time for the big hardcore Cristina and Owen surgery scene. They are all talking about how their parents would of reacted if they talked like Hilary did to hers and Cristina basically says she could do and say whatever she wanted as a kid. Her parents couldn’t do anything about it as she says and Owen gives her this look. I can not really explain what kind of a look it is but for me it is like he is saying wow my girlfriend is cocky and I don’t know if I like this side of her…that is my opinion though. I mean it is really hard to put into words what I thought that look meant and I am sure you all have your opinions about it. Owen is still eyeing her when Jackson starts to talk which worries me, I can’t explain why. Okay moving on…so Hilary has an air embolism in her heart and Cristina really wants to aspirate it but Owen says no. It makes sense since cardio should be there and she is inexperienced. Although she says that she has done it before, it is protocol that he waits for cardio. We flash to Alex shirtless…okay yes I know this is not a review on Alex but I just had to mention him shirtless! He looked hot! Okay so back to the surgery, Cristina is still trying to get Owen to let her do the procedure but he is not budging. Finally after some time she says “Screw it” and the pounding music comes on and dam does it get intense! I actually could not breathe during this scene and my heart was pounding and it was just so crazy. I mean Cristina is hardcore awesome during this procedure! She just takes control and will not even listen to Owen yelling her name, she is so focused and it is quite impressive. Jackson helps her by pressing on that machine thing and he is looking at her in such awe. I felt the same way Jackson, I could not take my eyes off of her. The way they did that scene with the music and then the almost silence/sounds while she concentrated plus Owen yelling, it was just so much but it was completely awesome! My cardio goddess was back in full form! Yay!
Now for the fighting which is not fun. I will talk about each of their sides but when they were fighting in the scrub room, the things Owen was saying made sense. I mean if anything went wrong and she screwed up, it would of been her license. Yes she needed this a lot because she was cardio-deprived but she went too far. As Owen says that he has been around the block once or twice so he could of totally done the thoracotomy if it was necessary but it was not. I get Cristina being mad too because he questioned her qualifications and while the chief encouraged her to do that procedure before, Owen was yelling like a mad man. I mean I really do not think it is a good idea to yell at somebody when they are in the middle of sticking a needle type thing into somebody’s heart…I’m just saying. Also for Cristina she is a little mad that he does not understand why she did this because she needed to for herself…she was barely making it through the days with this merger. She is sad and she really needed this like really needed it, she was quite happy to do it. Of course Jackson comes in and says hot awesome the surgery was but she tells him to shut up which should show him how totally not into him she is but it does not…later he is talking to Reed and goes on and on about Cristina and Reed says it pretty perfectly that “She is completely out of your league”. It is so true! Although I think Jackson is quite hot with his tan skin and pretty eyes, he is just too immature and young and not hardcore enough for Cristina. She needs a real man like she said back in the beginning of season five and Owen is a real man!
Now for the second fight of the episode back at Cristina and Callie’s apartment. Callie and Arizona are in the middle of fighting about really nothing…I am still not sure what that fight was about. Well anyways in walks Cristina and Owen still fighting about the surgery. She does not want to talk about it anymore but Owen is still really pissed. He brings up how she does not pull that stuff with any other attending and that she took advantage of him and their relationship and he is totally right! She knew that he would not physically stop her and he would not kick her out of the room because he cares about her so she did it. She knew it was wrong and she did it anyways and dam is she proud about it too! Watching this scene it is intense but you can not help but laugh at how happy she is and she really is not listening to anything Owen is saying because she is just so happy. She is celebrating it and pouring herself some wine. Then back to reality she says that the surgery was brilliant and woah does that make Owen angry! Well more angry then he already was and he says that Cristina may think she can do whatever she wants but that her luck may eventually run out and walks out. I was so nervous at this point but then Cristina oh so perfectly looks at Callie, says “Bitches” and takes a drink of wine. This show is so good at taking those awkward, intense moments and throwing in that comic relief. And I have noticed that a lot of the time it is Cristina that is the comic relief, she always gets those one liners that kill me every time.
Now I have to mention the little Cristina and Meredith scene. I really do love every scene these two have and this one definitely delivered. Meredith said all the things I was thinking like that he cares about Cristina, love when Cristina says “So?” and then the way Meredith says “So” back by the way. It was too cute. Anyways Mer mentions how maybe Owen is a little right and that if anything went wrong, it would of been her career. Then she says the best line “He cares about your career, he’s in love with you” and this made me so happy. It made me happy one because we see that Meredith likes Owen and forgives him for the choking and two because it shows how much Mer has changed and three because I love any time I get to hear about Owen loving Cristina. Cristina says she hates married, happy Meredith but I kind of love her this way. Of course she can not always be like this since I mean really she is not Izzie, I think Mer has to be a little dark. It just would be so out of character and it would change her too much. I like to see characters evolve and change but not too much, parts of their personalities have to remain in tact. Like with Alex he finally showed emotions and cried last season and he is showing his more caring and nurturing side but we still need that asshole Alex to come out every once and a while. He just would not be Alex if not for that. Okay now I am rambling…so yes I agree with Meredith about Owen and this scene was great. Meredith sticking out her tongue and laughing was too adorable! I definitely think what Meredith said got through to Cristina though…it made her finally realize what Owen was saying may have been a little right. You can see this in Cristina’s speech to Hilary. She talks about how Hilary’s lucky she did not die and that she needs to grow up which is kind of like what Owen said to Cristina at her apartment about her luck running out.
Now for Arizona’s surprise party and the kiss that shocked millions for years to come!! Okay I did exaggerate this, it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Like I knew in my heart the whole time after seeing the preview for this episode, Cristina pushed Jackson away! You go girl! I knew that my favorite character would never cheat on the love of her life and although I always knew she would not do anything, I was just so relieved that she stopped him and said “I’m involved”! Woah my heart was a beating! And I have heard that many people thought she did not push him away fast enough but I am sorry people, she was taken off guard and drank a little and it took a few seconds to communicate to her brain that this was occurring. It was not even long and she did not use tongue. She pushed him off and we should all be happy about that, we should not take a two second kiss and freak out! It annoyed me that people got upset and thought she did not push him off fast enough. I have a friend who was taken off guard by a boy who kissed her and it took her a few seconds to contemplate and push him off. Cristina was not prepared and I really don’t think she could of pushed him away any faster. Plus when he was in her room and she found him there she wanted him to leave and she would not even let him call her Cristina. There is no attraction to him on her part and I am pretty sure that she does not even remotely like him as a friend either. They really freaked me out with this kiss being in the promo and the week of waiting to see what happened killed me and it was nothing. Seriously it was not even a big deal which I am happy about but I am mad that I was so freaked out for a whole week! Oh well I guess that is how they pull us all in and dam do they do a good job pulling us in! I really love it!
So now for the last Cristina and Owen scene which has made people have mixed feelings. Well I watched it and when Cristina said “It was me, can’t you see that?” it even took me a few moments to get what she way saying. She was saying that she did that procedure for herself to make her feel good and that surgery is who she is. It was her and although I get it after thinking about what she said, of course Owen is not going to understand it. He has not been there! And I am sorry but this is when I may get a little mad. He has not been around for very long and he was not there is season four when Cristina was feeling like a ghost! He does not know that she did a lot harder surgeries then this in season three for Burke because again he was not there! Cristina does not talk! She does not tell him what she is feeling and he did not see her balling her eyes out with Meredith. He does not completely understand how much surgery means to her and if she talked to him and told him then of course he would be more sensitive! It just makes me mad to hear that Owen was not being sensitive enough and yes it seemed like she was going to open up to him until he was all mad and said “See what?!” but he was still angry! He was in the wrong state of mind to have a sensitive conversation with her and I get it. I completely get it and I do not blame him. People keep saying that Owen has changed a lot this season and that people are starting not to like him because he is an ass now or something like that but for me that is not the case. I think he has been great this season but the fact is that at work he can not favor Cristina, that is not in his nature. He follows the rules and although he is still hardcore, he is an army guy. He was brought up to follow protocol and he may sometimes do things that are questionable but he still follows the rules. And I get where he comes from and I get where Cristina comes from. I love Cristina and I will always stick by her but she is not the one who is getting all the flack this episode. I would normally stick up for her but Owen is the one in need of it. She is all good and everybody is fine with what she did so I have to stick up for my man. Yes I call her my girl and now I am going to call him my man from now on. People need to stop freaking out about everything he does, it is Owen. Cute and adorable and caring Owen. He is also a guy so of course he is not going to get everything and it is going to take him time. Give him time and stop being mean, it makes me sad. I mean I do not know if any of you think this way and I am sorry if I am coming of angry and such but I had to get it off my chest. I like that she says sorry because it shows that she is growing up and it is not like in season three where she did not talk to Burke for many episodes just cause she did not want to give in first. It shows how far she has come and that she is okay to just admit when she was wrong now and move on. Love when she asks him to come home…aww home! It is like that is his home now too, how great is that?! I was a little worried when he hesitated but he said yes so yay! And now I am done with my rant and with my long awaited review.
I am so happy to finally have done this for you all and I am really sorry that I made you all wait really long. I actually never thought that people would care if I wrote this and people would forget about it but I was wrong, you like me you really like me!! I am so grateful to all of you for waiting for this and for reading my sometimes crazy thoughts. I will hopefully start the ninth episode review right after Christmas and I will have that one and the tenth one done before January 14th for sure! I hope you all enjoyed this and I can not wait to see what that new doctor Teddy is like next week…yes I know I have already seen the episode but this is normally how I would end a review…so tune in next week for another crazy long review! Yo estoy totalmente de acuerdo con eso de que la gente esta juzgando demaciado pronto a owen!! esta bien esta parte que estan mostrando de el,porque pese a que no me gusta que el por momentos no entienda a cristina, tambien nos muestra su lado mas humano!, nadie es perfecto y creo q es tambien algo de eso lo que quieren demostrar!

For me, the only good scene in this episode is Cristina rocked in the OR. I don’t care if she pissed Owen of or not there, for me in that OR, she was a super star, and nothing matters anymore.
I really disliked Owen “see what?!”. That just turned me off, I do understand what he comes from now, but I think the writers should’ve done better job on this line, or there wouldn’t be so many fans misunderstand this.

One more note, I really hate the way she said sorry, she is a super star in Cardio, and she will be a god, but her boyfriend totolly didn’t see her truly ability, but scream into her ears. For me this sorry is more like a compromising, and it hurts a lot.

The first scene, the line you wrote that Owen says, LOVE that line! lol I don’t know why but it really is so cute
I feel so bad for Owen, getting all this crap. Obviously he couldn’t see why Cristina did the crazy surgery thing. We all know, and Meredith and Callie and them know because they’ve been there! They were there in seasons 1-3 when she was actually doing what she loved, cardio surgery, especially season 3 when she was doing Burke’s surgeries a lot. So we all know who Cristina is and understand why she needed to do this, but obviously Owen doesn’t. You know that Cristina doesn’t talk about stuff like this, so how is he supposed to understand her and see her when she doesn’t tell him things? He can’t just pick it up on his own. Like when Arizona didn’t understand why it was funny to Callie that Cristina was in Peds, it’s cause she hasn’t been there, and Owen is no different. I mean he should be cause they’re in love but it’s still Cristina, she needs to open up to him so he can know her better.
And Owen is very proper and by-the-book, he would freak out for her doing that surgery. That’s just who he is. He gave Izzie that case when she just got back from cancer because he doesn’t play favourites, he’s an honest guy.
Wow HUGE rant there haha anyway love your reviews and opinions (in case you didn’t catch it, I totally agree with you lol) and can’t wait to see what you say about Teddy!

@AmandaLand, My point is people should have a little understaning for others who hates or stongly dislike Owen since this episode, because clearly, Owen has not really supported Cristina that much, compare what Cristina has done to him. Now he introduced Teddy, which just made things even messer, and apparently Owen has done some terrible mistakes in his past, those are why fans are so angry about Owen, I do understand them. Sometimes those comments about Owen has done nothing wrong are quite ridiculous for me.
I\’ve never expect Owen to be a perfect man, to be honest, I felt he was a better man than other male characters in last season, but now, I don\’t think so any more. But it doens\’t matter, for a long term GA fan, I get used how Shonda does for her characters, so, I get over it, and since Shonda has sent KMK to do some damge control, may be things will get better next year.
@Nui, I get where you are coming from. I mean I do not get how people can hate Owen and such but whatever, people are allowed to have their own opinions. I think bringing Teddy in was a great thing he did but I will talk more about that in my next review. I actually feel like things are good now and I like the angst.
I love that you like Cristina so much, it makes me happy because I love her!

@AmandaLand, I do understand why they hated Owen, I just can’t understand why some people still think Owen has done nothing wrong. For me bring Teddy in was a good gesture until I get he had feelings for Teddy. Well, bring a woman who you had feeling for a long time and is potential threatern for your relationship and your girlfriend’s career, is that really good?

@Lindsay, Well, I don’t think misunderstanding or being lack of communication is just Cristina’s fault, just like you said, everyone saw how frustated Cristina was, but Owen, why?
Please also pay attention to the conversation bewteen O and Callie, clearly he knew Cristina wanted a suegery so badly, but he didn’t wake her up, and the worse was he sorta of thought it was a joke. From his tone, I indeed felt he knew her problems, but just choosed to ignor it, because he though it was not big deal.
@Nui, No, I don’t think the lack of communication is just Cristina\’s fault. There’s two people in the relationship, but even if Owen asks Cristina about her past and what-not, she may not answer him, and that’s just who she is. I absolutely love Cristina but you can’t pretend that she doesn’t easily open up to people, that’s just her personality.
And I think that when Owen was talking about Cristina at the beginning, he may have been treating it like a joke because he didn’t realize just what surgery means to Cristina. I think if he understood how much she needs to be the rockstar she is, then he would wake her up at night and let her do surgeries more often.
@Lindsay, May be you are right, and I believe that he will help her, once he realized, but the problem is, the way he treated his frustrated girlfriend in past episodes was really uncomfortable for me to watch.
@Lindsay, and I just couldn’t make myself find anything funny in his scene with Callie, and his scene with Derek and Mark in 6×04. Because for me Cristina was the victim of his jokes.

I do not find a man who ignores and sometimes mocks his obviously distressed girlfriend for episode after episode “cute and adorable.”
You may not get why people hate Owen, but I sure as hell do.
@Amy, well that is great. I get that people have different opinions. I mean some people even liked the George and Izzie hook up…:razz:

Thanks to Shonda’s character assassination of Owen, the only thing I’m rooting for is Cristina to drop Owen’s sorry, undeserving ass. I wasn’t a big fan of Burke’s or his relationship with Cristina, but he was better for her in comparison to the man Owen’s become.
@Amy, I actually said the George and Izzie thing to be funny…not as a dig at you or your opinions. I respect your opinions and I would like some respect for mine in return. Just because I still like Owen does not mean I am stupid which is what you are saying by asking if I am bright enough…yes I am bright enough so thanks for asking!
Please if you do not like Owen then do not read my reviews because I LOVE him! I ADORE him! I will be writing nice things about him and loving it so then don’t read my reviews. It will just make you angry and cause you to write hurtful comments like you did here.
It seems you did not like Burke or Owen so is Cristina supposed to be alone??!! And do you think Cristina is so perfect? She is my favorite character but she has many flaws like any normal human being and so does Owen and so did Burke.
I am not stupid for liking Owen or having my own opinions so please take it down a notch and refrain from leaving insults towards my intelligence.

@AmandaLand, Being alone is better than being with someone who isn’t worthy of you. No realtionship is better than a bad one. I feel sorry for anyone who thinks otherwise.
I know neither Owen or Cristina are perfect, but Owen’s behavior is inexcusable.
And for the record, I loved Owen (whom I don’t even recognize anymore) and Owen/Cristina at one point. That is why I and many others are angry at what Owen’s become and what’s happened to the ship.

Thank you for your analysis; it is a great one! (as usual) I do not usually leave comments here, but I think that seeing people so angry at Owen, makes it worth it to also share that I do not see him doing anything wrong.
I see she did a “rock-star move” in the OR, but also that she took advantage of her boyfriend (do not see her doing it to Shepard, Sloan, or anyone else), and that she put her career on the line. She also disregarded his criteria, and his experience to know if it was necessary. So, at the end, even if she rocked the procedure, it was dangerous and a mistake to do it.
And as Meredith said, he was mad, because he cares about her.
This one was not my favorite episode, but I did love the growth of the characters, and how close they have come together. Breakfast scene is just great, and had me smiling forever. And the fact that they are able to fight and then go home together speaks of growth and strength.

@Kirea, I truely don’t get why people still see Owen has done nothing wrong her, I truely don’t understand this Owen adoration just like people who can’t understand Owen hating either.
After what your girlfriend nearly begged you ” can’t you see that?” All he could say was “see what?”, So that was perfect reaction to your frustrated girlfriend?
Even knowing your girlfriend was frustrated at her career, still didn’t help but mocking her with her roomates, was that perfect?
He cares about her, yeah so what? Doesn’t mean that you should yell at them and refuse to understand them whenever you want.
May be those Owen haters have gone extremely and hard to accept, but those St Owen can do no wrong atitude just really hard for me to understand.
I can’t see even second about “funny and adorable” when Owen making a joke about Cristina with Callie. All I saw was a bad boyfriend making fun on his frustrated girlfriend with others, what is funny, adorable or caring with that? I truely don’t understand.
@Nui, think your position was already clear some posts ago. You are entitled to have an oppinion, I respect it, and if it makes you happy, it is fine for me. I have a different one.
People have different points of view in life, and I rather be understanding than judgemental, but, again, you can chose whatever point of view you want to have

@Kirea, you have a good hoilday too, but can you please just answer my questions, what has Owen done was so perfect to Cristina in that episode? Yelling at her during she is operating? Refusing to understand her when he was angry? Making fun on her when she was depressed? Tell me? Are those right things to do? But I guess probably you will answer the same thing which I have seen on other Owen adoration place.Owen has done nothing wrong in some people’s mind after all, even after he introduced a woman he loved before to his girlfriend, or even after he dumped his ex financee in a very brutal and coward way, people just still think he has done nothing wrong.
My proint is, Owen was clearly wrong not just in this episode, but also in a lot of episodes, yep I get he is not perfect, that is my point too, that is also why I post comment here.

also in the next epidsode owen says “i know you think i dont understand you” so they have obviously had some kind of conversation to talk about what happened.
He yelled at her in surgery becuase she crosssed a line she is only a 3rd year ok, he dosnt know she was burkes hand or any thing else.

Loved your review! I especially like to read all your reviews because they focus on Cristina and Owen.
Also, I agree with your comments about Owen. He is learning about Cristina. They are trying to build a relationship together. They both have made mistakes this season and are imperfect which makes them human and lovable. Can’t wait to read your next review!
@Lee, yes! That is what I am trying to say…that it is not all on Owen or all on Cristina. They both made mistakes and that is what happens in relationships. Yes he was a bit oblivious but she was also not talking to him about it. She talked to Meredith and cried and let out here feelings but Owen does not know that.

I have to agree with those who aren’t quite sure how Owen did anything wrong. Granted, it’s taken some time for him to realize what a dark and twisty place Cristina is in because of the merger, lack of cardio mentor, etc. But I agree that Owen hasn’t seen this side of Cristina before and since Cristina won’t directly talk to him, he’s had to put the pieces together himself. In the beginning of this episode, we see him starting to formulate a plan to help, just as in the previous episode he showed Cristina how to use the microscope. Love is a verb. He’s demonstrating his love by trying to help her.
Regardless of what was going on with Cristina personally, she stepped over-the-line professionally with Owen and he called her on it. I don’t think I could have any respect for him if he had not. He was justifiably angry because she was insubordinate and took advantage of their personal relationship in a professional setting. That is not acceptable. When Cristina apologizes, I don’t see it as weakness at all, but rather as strength. She is growing as a person. It’s hard for Cristina Yang to admit she was wrong, but she was and to admit it was growth … as was asking Owen to come home. I don’t see this as compromsing herself. Mature people don’t hold petty grudges. They apologize when they are wrong and they move on. And notice how Owen, despite his anger, accepts her apology and goes home with her. If that had been Burke, he likely wouldn’t have spoken to her for days. Of course, she likely wouldn’t have apologized either. That’s what I love about Cristina and Owen. They are adults and they handle things like adults who are in it together for the long haul. I think we need to cut them both some slack. Mistakes are how you learn and then you move on. If Cristina and Owen are going to be together for 40 years (and I believe they will be together for a lifetime), then they are going to have disagreements and mistakes will be made on both sides. What’s important is how they handle those situations and so far I’m impressed with both of them. They are in this together.

I agree with everything you said and I love your comparison to Burke. It is very true and we have seen how much she has matured since that relationship. Owen and Cristina are in this and they are sticking like glue, I really feel nothing will tear them apart especially not a little fight like this.
Aww and I love that he did go home with her and truthfully I still found him quite adorable this episode, even with all the anger and yelling…
I just hope that Cristina will start to talk to him more and he will begin to see how much surgery and such really does mean to her. I think he is starting to get it but not to the extent that we all know how Cristina is. They need to talk for sure!

and the “See what” line was like omg, but kevin had said its not meant to mirror his “please see me line”, its as you say he was angry and thats all

WOW, what a debate! Okay back to the topic.
I totally with people who thinks Owen has done some sorta of mistakes in this episode. Because I’ve started to have a bad feeling of Owen just since this episode. For people who can not understand why people hate Owen or why people think Owen has made mistake, please think in this way. If Owen is totally innocent in this episode, if the audiences think so, there wouldn’t have debates everywhere, clearly some of audiences (let’s say half of them) can not agree what he did in that episode, can not agree his joking with Callie, can not agree his “see what line”, so it means he was wrong, he wasn’t innocent as some of the comments said.
To be honest, saying Owen was “cute and adorable” in that scene with Callie, did hurt my feeling as well, perhaps I am a Cristina fan first, so I couldn’t get what was so adorable in that scene.
@Erica, yeah I knew people had different opinions about this episode and Owen and that last scene but I did not know it would start all this…I kind of like it though because it shows the passion people have for this show. And for this couple.
Yes I get that Owen was in the wrong at times but I can not hate him. It is just not possible…well unless he cheats on her or something then he is a done in my heart! But I respect people’s opinions that do not like him anymore and such. I just can not feel that way…and I know he is not innocent. Both of them are not innocent, that is why I love them

First, I have to say it is kinda of coincidental that a couple of posters have the same grammatical and spelling errors! LOL Just saying!
I have LOVED Cristina since Season 1, she has been my favorite forever because I can totally relate to her. As an extremely “A” type Driven personality, I have made miscalculations over the years and stepped over the line because of my drive to be the best. Learning from my mistakes and learning when it is appropriate for me to take action is how I have become the best in my field. I see Cristina doing the same. She overstepped her professional boundaries with Owen and he had every right as her professional superior to be upset and put her in her place. Just because you can do something better than your superiors doesn’t give you the right to do so, it is called protocol in the workplace.
Owen or Cristina are not perfect, who in this world is? They are two non-perfect people learning how to deal with each other in the professional world and personally because they love each other. Love is love. It doesn’t make sense sometimes but you do what it takes. The fact that this couple can argue so passionately and still at the end of the day want to be together is a very strong sign of a couple that will make it in the long run!

Like I stated before, I am very much like Cristina in personality. I speak my mind and opinion freely and frequently offend people unintentionally! It was something I observed and though it was quite strange that two different posters had the same thoughts and errors! LOL But I do apologize for being too straight forward with my observation. Through the years I have learned to tone it down a bit (years of maturity) and think before I speak but obviously I stepped over “another line”! That was my point in my initial post.
Cristina is growing this season and she will have her moment to shine, just wait! For me, one of the greatest things for her is that she will be able to shine in her profession and have the love of her life too! At least that is what I am wishing for her too have! In this day and age, you really can have it all!

I absolutely love Owen and Cristina. Owen and Cristina are good for each other. Owen brings out the passionate, loving and caring side of Cristina and Cristina has given Owen hope for a new beginning in the after and love. I actually look forward to them dealing with the drama of “life” and “work” as long as they do it together as a couple which includes fighting and making up (the best part with these two- passionate kisses anyone! LOL).

I really enjoyed your review. For me, the most interesting part of the relationship between Cristina and Owen is that they are two flawed people who are trying to conquer their separate issues to be with each other. Owen isn’t perfect, but he has done nothing, IMO, to merit the kind of name-calling and anger I’ve seen on some sites, and in some of the posts here. Cristina is wonderful, but she is also very tough and doesn’t willingly talk about her feelings. Owen also isn’t the most verbal guy around. They are going to need time to understand each other, and I think that’s what the writers are trying to show us. In contrast to what some others have said here, I think we are seeing two strong, complex people trying to achieve real intimacy with each other, and that is a difficult process. Cristina’s “I’m sorry” wasn’t weakness; it was growth. Owen putting aside his own anger and going home with her – - that was love. I think people need to take a deep breath and let this story play out. Please keep writing your reviews, Amandaland – - I like your take on this episode and I’m looking forward to what you have to say about 6.09!

Lots of comments! Your review was great. I love owen cristina. I cannot understand all the hate to owen. His story line was a bit different than last year but for me he´s the best guy on the show(and the best actor by far). He didn´t cheat, he loves Cristina. He doesn´t play favorites and he didn´t understand her at first. So what? He´s with her and suports her now and that´s what´s important.Derek left Meredith twice! Alex cheated on Izzie and he treated her like cr*p for two seasons.
This is my favorite couple. The only one that I enjoy and the fact that these actors are the most talented ones of the cast only makes me like them more.

My question is if someone doesn’t like a certain couple or characters why bother reading an article that is ABOUT THAT COUPLE OR CHARACTERS! LOL
I follow GreysGabble but if the article that I click on is not about MY favorite couple or something I don’t agree with, I don’t waste my time or energy reading it and definitely not commenting on it! I DISLIKE certain characters on GA but that is my opinion, NO NEED TO BASH THEM because I don’t particularly care for them. Just a waste of my time!
Put all the negative energy to better use! Go save the world or something! LOL
I LOVE Owen & Cristina and will continue to LOVE this couple through the good times and bad times because even when they are just standing next to each other, ruthlessly arguing or passionately kissing, they make me extremely giddy!

I honestly don’t understand why people who don’t like Owen/Cristina would read a review on them. If you don’t like them, then why read the review AND comment on it? Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no doubt, but this site is for positive comments. I don’t think that Amandaland appreciates people questioning her intelligence just because people don’t agree with her opinion. Her liking Owen has nothing to do with her intelligence as a person. Don’t crucify the poor girl for having her own opinion! Leave room on the comment section for those of us who love Amanda’s reviews and value her opinions.
Also, Owen is a human who maybe makes some mistakes and bad decisions sometimes, like we all do! Just because he makes mistakes doesn’t mean people should attack him and call him “stupid” or an ass. If we attacked everyone who makes these kinds of mistakes (or any mistakes for that matter), I think we’d always be attacking each other.

Yes, I am an “Owen fangirl” BUT I am also a “Cristina fangirl (girl crush)”! Owen and Cristina are amazing together, love their passion and love for each other.
Funny thing was last season, haters were complaining that they were portraying Owen as “too perfect” now they are complaining that he is “not perfect”! LOL Haters/whiners will always find something to complain about! If you are saying THAT IS NOT TRUE, then take a deep breath in, open your heart & give Owen a chance to redeem himself if you feel that is necessary (some don’t but forgiveness is a virtue, see if you can achieve that – if you can’t give that to a fictional character how in world will you ever be able to in the real world) and see how things unfold next on the show not just speculation – I have a feeling good things are ahead for Cristina and Owen/Cristina! They would not be establishing all this misunderstanding between the two, bumpy road, if there is not a resolution in the end. I also, rather spend my time on things I LOVE and NOT on what I dislike so I don’t complain or whine about the Storylines and Characters I don’t like – WHICH are quite a few on Grey’s.
The funny thing is Cristina is FAR from perfect herself, which is why I love her too! She doesn’t always treat Owen in the best way (i.e. lab scene – ham’s for hands, surgery fiasco – he is her boss and she stepped way OVER that line, BUT these same Owen haters can turn a blind eye to that! LOL
The fact that millions, including the writers, love Owen and Cristina is not going to change just because a few decide to verbally hate on Owen! Get a grip! People for years have been hating on Derek and Mer/Der are still going strong!

Just for the record, from someone that has experienced life for many years – Owen has not treated Cristina badly (say what you may), I have seen men treated women badly and standing up to your woman because they are over stepping their bounds in a professional environment is NOT treating someone badly. I have worked with my husband in the professional world, you have to separate the two for a relationship to work, cannot play favoritisms – not beneficial for either side. Owen loves Cristina and vice versa, learning each others boundaries/what makes each other tick IS laying the foundation for a stable relationship. This road is always bumpy in a relationship but the one’s that get through it are the keepers.

A FEW?! LOL That would be an understatement of the year. Basically every message board or blog out there is full of people who are fed up with season 6 incarnation of Owen.
Millions? What millions? Last year C&O YT videos were getting 10.000 hits after merely two days but this year? A month has gone by and their “Holidaze” kiss barely reached 8.000 views.
Just one example of how everything is “perfect” in C&O land and how they are still on the “top of their popularity”.
@Anya, Actually there are more videos out of their holidaze kiss, so those views are shared. There are at least 5 different videos posted and they all have at lease 5,000+ views each. So the total viewing is up!
@Crystal, nope, it’s not up. Last year there were also multiple clips from every episode, often posted by several different fans.
What I meant is that last year C&O scenes like vent kiss, shower scene, “See me” or “Take care now” were getting more views after one day than their season 6 scenes get after two months. I know what I’m talking about because I used to be C&O shipper.
Their relationship is just not what it used to be and the low number of YT views is just one of examples for that. I could rewatch C&O scenes from episodes like 5×9, 5×10, 5×12, 5×14, 5×16 or 5×19 many times and still wanted more but this year? With the exception of this year SP I hardly recall anything worth rewatching.

I love Owen and Cristina’s relationship and look forward to where it will go! I agree, I haven’t been thrilled with their storyline in the first part of the season. But it is like the writers on purpose were trying to cause conflict for this amazing couple and it just didn’t quite fit – Owen clueless and Cristina acting immature again both were just so out of character! But I do believe it will get better now that they have established the “misunderstanding each other” foundation, things will get better!

Nobody is forcing you to like Owen and as other fans have said, owen does make mistakes. But
that doesn´t mean he´s a terrible guy! Come on! ALL the other male characters have done horrible and worse mistakes than him, including the loved McDreamy.
Also, OWINA haters are really naive if you think that message boards and forums represent the reality of what fans think. Only A FEW(VERY VERY FEW) fans spend time on message boards. So we don´t really know how many owen haters
there are, and personally I DON´T CARE. They are by far the two best actors on GA. There´s a reason for all the great reviews they´ve had.
But if you DO think that the forums, articles and message boards represent all the fans, then you will also see that most don´t want Izzie back, lots hate MarkLexie and A LOT of people
think that merder and especially Meredith is annoying as hell. There are haters for EVERY character.
@lilla, yeah that is so true about the message boards and forums! If you listened to that stuff and thought it represented all the fans out there then that is very wrong. That is why I try to stay away from these things because people are so negative…I actually love Slexie and Meredith is awesome! Plus of course I love Owen. Then I go on these message boards and people say these horrible things and it is sad. I would rather be positive and happy!
For me season 4 sucked and on the boards, people actually liked it so that just shows me to not trust what the boards say

@lilla, C&O got great reviews LAST SEASON and deservedly so. This year their storyline sucks and Hunt turned into someone I hardly recognize. I doubt love triangle with Teddy + clueless Owen will get them any raving reviews.
As far as them being “the best actors on GA”…you do realize that M&D fans say the same about EP and PD? Or that A&I fans say the same about KH and JC? Or Callie&Arizona fans say the same about Sara Ramirez? And so on and so on and so on.
I agree that Sandra Oh rocks every material she gets. KmK was great last season but this year, sans SP, I have yet to see him doing anything besides staring blankly into space or overacting.
