PD & Team Win at Mint 400!

We told you about Patrick doing some off road racing! Congrats to him, his team did really well!
Actor and racer Patrick Dempsey made a winning return to off-road racing, with American Le Mans Series teammate Andy Lally, in the General Tire Mint 400, the oldest off-road race in North America. Dempsey and Lally scored a Class 5500 victory on March 23 in a Zero One car.
Dempsey and Lally finished the grueling Las Vegas course in just over seven hours and 21 minutes and just ahead of the Zero One West Coast Chill Sparco Girls team led by Dempsey Del Piero Racing team member Melissa Eickhoff. Dempsey, who survived one flat tire, started the course south of Las Vegas before sunrise and drove two of the three laps for a total of 184 miles. Teammate Lally drove one lap (92 miles) and had two flats.
Dempsey and Lally beat the all-girl team of Melissa Eickhoff (Dempsey Del Piero team member on the marketing side), Pattie Mayer (former PPG and current ALMS pace car driver) and Pilar Lastra (Playboy Playmate and aspiring race car driver)
“It was amazing to race in the dirt again and win,” Dempsey said. “I dug into my Baja 1000 experience and went for it. Andy’s never done this kind of racing before, so it was fun to share it with him. He did great and the Zero One team was great. Even the girls rocked, considering all the taunting I’ve had to put up with. It was good fun racing.”
Patrick drove almost 200 miles of the race made famous in the Hunter S. Thompson classic “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.” Past participants in the race include actors Steve McQueen and James Garner.
