Straight characters who are in committed relationships cheat all the time across all forms of media and it’s usually nothing by a cliched snoozefest, but committed lesbian couples are so sparse that when one of our beloved gay characters cheats and another one of our beloved gay characters, we find ourselves shouting at our TVs and movies and books. Below are five of the most WTF moments of fictional lesbian adultery.
Arizona Cheats on Callie, Grey’s Anatomy
We’ve got to hand it to Dr. Peyton Tree Hill: The lady’s swagger and game made us squirm uncomfortably as soon as she hit the screen. And by “squirm,” I mean “swoon.” She went after Arizona hard and even the piano music in the scene where Arizona and Dr. Peyton finally crash into each other seems sympathetic to their sexual chemistry. But Arizona has a wife and has spent nearly all of this season refusing to have sex with her wife just because Callie was forced to chop off half of Arizona’s leg one time. I mean, everyone relationship has its ups and downs. Shit happens. Limbs are lost. That doesn’t mean you start humping your gorgeous doppelganger the minute a superstorm knocks out the power in the on-call room!

JCap Talks with TV Line!

Jessica visited with Matt Mitovich over at TV Line and talked about Arizona and the Grey’s Finale!
Visiting TVLine’s Times Square offices, Jessica Capshaw spoke candidly about Arizona’s on-call room romp with perky, pretty Lauren (played by Hilarie Burton) and the fallout scenes to come in tonight’s superstorm-tossed Season 9 finale (ABC, 9/8c).
Describing the storyline as “incredibly risky and edgy,” Capshaw admits, “It totally upset the apple cart for me,” and yet it creates “fertile ground for what we want from our TV sets” — that is, juicy drama.

Patrick Gives Mom Greatest Gift!

Patrick takes on another venture and this time it’s not racing or acting!
They say life often imitates art. Patrick Dempsey, most known for his heart-throbbing portrayal of Derek Shepherd, aka Dr. McDreamy on the long-running Grey’s Anatomy, is making medical magic in real-life by helping cancer patients’ wishes come true. After watching his mom suffer from ovarian cancer multiple times, Dempsey felt moved to make a difference. To honor his mom’s ongoing journey, he founded The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing in his hometown of Lewiston, Maine.
Earlier this year, the center opened the doors to its new home, and KnowMore was there to celebrate this unique and wonderful place that offers free counseling, nutrition services, alternative therapies, and much more, to cancer patients and their families.

Hearing JCap talk about Arizona this way continues to help me cope and come to terms with what she’s done and sort of helps me prepare for what’s coming. Although the cheating part in itself sucks, her explanation of things, even prior to the airing of the finale, makes me think about this whole thing in a different light. What about you?
